Wasting heat is expensive

Are you one of those people who keeps your bathroom floor heating on night and day? You can still be comfortable even if you only turn the floor heating on when needed and lower the temperature by a couple of degrees.

Savings: Floor heating can cost a surprising amount of money. Moderate use of heating will prevent unpleasant surprises in your electricity or heating bill. The savings depend on how large your bathroom is and how much you lower the temperature.

Remember this: If floor heating is the only heating system in the bathroom, it’s a good idea to keep it on all the time – by setting the temperature one or two degrees higher than the rest of the home. You can save energy by keeping the door closed so that the heat doesn’t escape.

Reducing your carbon footprint: Lowering the temperature in your bathroom by two degrees reduces your carbon footprint by about 1% each year. If a million Finns did this, it would save the equivalent of 3,000 carbon footprints.
