The challenges facing our societies are complex. Therefore, our school systems should educate children who think: I can be part of solving the world’s most pressing issues.
This is the action statement of an international research group of the Education in a Changing World research project, which states that building a sustainable future and learning future skills should be the most important task of education.
A book published in co-operation with Palgrave Macmillan, Sustainability, Human Well-being and the Future of Education raise considerations of the future of education. This open access book explores the key dimensions of a future education system designed to enable individuals, schools, and communities to achieve the twin twenty-first century challenges of sustainability and human well-being.
