In recent years, the amount of data collected of our everyday lives has increased at an astonishing pace. Nevertheless, the benefits of data are still being distributed very unevenly.
The position of power of the largest technology companies seems unwavering in relation to both individuals and SMEs. There is a growing need for approaches that empower people to harness data for the common good. To find new kinds of solutions Sitra launched a public ideation contest on data collectives in June 2023.
A data collective is a group of people who bring their data together to achieve a common goal. By combining digital solutions, innovative ways of using data and citizen participation, people can support democracy and produce new opportunities for participation.
Join us online to learn more about data collectives and to hear about the harvest of our ideation contest. We found three amazing and quite different ideas which make data serve ordinary people and their goals.
