Grischa Perino is a professor in environmental economics at the University of Hamburg and a principal investigator of the Cluster of Excellence “Climate, Climate Change and Society”. He has obtained degrees in economics from the Universities of Bonn and Freiburg, an M.Sc. in Environmental and Resource Economics from University College London and a PhD from the University of Heidelberg. Before moving to Hamburg in 2013 he was a senior lecturer at the University of East Anglia and held a visiting position at the University of Cambridge. His work focuses on the design and assessment of environmental policies, green technology adoption and intrinsic motivation to protect the environment. He has published in renowned journals such as Science, Nature Climate Change and the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management and has been involved in consultancy projects for the UK government and the European Commission.
