Who?
Iida Pyykkö works on sustainability solutions, especially for the World Circular Economy Forum WCEF and EU-related circular economy issues. Every day she ponders how to increase collaboration and share circular economy know-how internationally.
What?
Iida has ideas on how to build bridges for sustainability solutions. She has international experience from Sweden, Spain and Chile – in diverse environments from the island of Gotland to the glaciers of Patagonia. She is a geographer and resource efficiency expert and holds a master’s in sustainable destination development from Uppsala University, specialising in sustainable tourism, entrepreneurship and nature destinations.
From the university, Iida has experience in international projects, workshop design, event organisation, master’s programme design and teaching. She has also worked as a sustainability expert for a startup designing small houses and saunas. In Gotland, she ran an international students’ organisation for sustainable development and represented Finland as a Eurocean Youth ambassador for more sustainable use of the sea.
What else?
Iida spends her free time experimenting with new places and recipes. She is particularly inspired by outdoor activities: picking wild herbs in spring; kayaking, boating, paddleboarding or swimming at the sea in summer; harvesting at her brother’s permaculture farm in autumn and hiking in winter. Iida is also an active volunteer in international EU projects in her spare time.
Her motto: There is no sustainability without responsibility.
