Jarrod Luxton

Who?

Jarrod is a Senior lead within Sitra’s Nature and the economy project, focusing on the capability of the Finnish private sector to address the nature crisis. Jarrod spends his time working on methods and tools for nature-positivity, building capacity and the implementation of leading international frameworks and thinking in Finland.

What?

Jarrod holds a Master of Science in Water and Environmental Engineering from Aalto University, with his thesis exploring how nature-based solutions could be prioritised in urban centers. Before Sitra, Jarrod has worked at various consultancies supporting both companies and governments on strategy, policy and on-the-ground design of nature-based solutions. 

What else?

Jarrod moved to Helsinki from Australia in 2019 and has come to call Finland home. In his spare time Jarrod is a keen hiker and sailor, always on the lookout for an exciting route or chance to get out on the water. In an effort to keep active in the Finnish winter and following significant lobbying from friends, he has also taken up cross-country skiing – which he has grown to love.

While our current challenges are substantial and numerous, Jarrod believes that we can (and will) find the solutions for a positive future for both nature and humanity.
