Jyri Seppälä

Professor Jyri Seppälä is the Director of the Centre for Sustainable Consumption and Production at the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE). His scientific work has mainly focused on the life cycle assessment of products and services in which climate and sustainability assessments have played a central role. He has been the responsible leader in several large R&D studies and has been involved in different working groups where he has supported the preparation of regulation for which he has also produced background information. Among other things, he is the leader of the “Towards Carbon Neutral Municipalities” (Hinku) forerunner network as well as a member of the Finnish Climate Panel.
