Koichi Takahashi is a leader in solving food loss problems in Japan.
He is also a veterinarian, and has won the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Prize for a mechanism to produce liquid lactic acid fermented feed from food waste by a new technique, and started Japan Food Ecology Center, INC. He also started food recycling facilities in Japan and is president of “The All Japan Food Recycling Network” organisation. He gave a lecture at the “High Level Political Forum” held in the United Nations headquarters in New York last year.
