Liisa Pietola

I am a senior advisor to Foresight, focusing on food, forests and economic growth.

I have worked in the field for 40 years, as an agronomist and docent of soil sciences, as well as a farmer and forest manager. An academic career that began in the 80s at the University of Helsinki took me to RDI project director of the fertilizer industry in 2006 and environment director of MTK in 2011, which created networks in EU politics in addition to the international scientific community. I started at Sitra as a senior lead in sustainability solutions for agriculture and forestry in 2022.
