María Mendiluce has over 20 years’ experience in the energy sector and policy development.
She has been leading the development of WBCSD’s Climate and Energy strategy, guiding the work of over 200 member companies to influence the global climate landscape. María developed and led the Low Carbon Technology Partnerships initiative (LCTPi) with over 150 global companies, one of WBCSD’s most successful flagship projects. María recently became part of WBCSD’s Senior Management Team (SMT) and is now also managing WBCSD’s work on water, ecosystems and circular economy. In this capacity, she has conducted important work around identifying global megatrends to help companies navigate the current global reality. She also initiated the first-ever Leading Women’s Awards on International Women’s Day in 2017 as part of WBCSD’s work on gender equality (SDG5).
