Riku Sinervo

Who?

Riku Sinervo works as a specialist in the Nature and the economy focus area. His key duties in the team include working on the road map to a circular economy and Sitra’s list of the most interesting companies in the circular economy in Finland.

Riku previously worked on waste management development projects at Helsinki Region Environmental Services and he also has experience of working on an idea competition on sustainable business and the world of start-ups. He has picked up international experience along the way by being an exchange student in Iceland and going on various trips, including volunteering in Nepal to promote small-scale entrepreneurship.

Riku has a master’s in environmental technology from the University of Jyväskylä. In addition to his major studies, he also took courses in technology business and in leadership and management.

What else?

In his free time, Riku enjoys various nature-related activities and being around people. He likes to recharge his batteries by going trekking in the local forest, or even hiking up in Lapland, and waking up surrounded by nature. When he wants to push himself and get his heart rate up, rock climbing is his preferred activity.

Riku believes that people will still get to enjoy the seasons and the wonders of nature in the future.
