The purpose of this paper is to give an overview of the situation regarding immigrant integration in Finland. Following the proposed outline for the background paper for Working Group 3, presentation is divided into three sections. After the introduction, Pasi Saukkonen will first identify certain areas where Finnish integration policy has met challenges. Then he will analyse some emerging needs and opportunities from the current situation. In the third part, the Finnish integration policy architecture is assessed. The essay ends with a concluding paragraph.
